Best Jogging Stroller At An Affordable Price
Baby Trend Expedition is all about jogging and strolling for joy at an affordable price. Keeping active is tough, but this stroller may even persuade you to begin working out a little more. Perfect to take a baby for adventures, vacation or hiking. The big wheels make this easy to push on gravel, dirt roads or in the grass. It maneuvers like a dream, easy to fold and unfold.
I was surprised to see that the handlebars were at an almost perfect height. Moreover, it has a very nice slip-resistant grip for pushing and maneuvering while jogging or walking.
Although the back reclines, it doesn’t go completely flat. It has 5 point safety harness and tether strap. The seatbelt harness is a little hard to unbuckle, but this to make sure that your child won’t be able to get out on their own while moving. So, after all, it’s a bad thing.
The canopy is incredibly sturdy but also remains somewhat flexible. It has a great range of motion, and will completely cover your child if needed. There’s a storage basket included, which is relatively spacious – it’s ideal for storing things like your purse, phone or dipper gag. I took this specific stroller to Disneyworld one time, and it was a blast.
It has a parent tray, kids tray, and cup holders on both the child tray and adult tray and they are awesome! The kid’s tray is a big enough to set up some kind of for entertainment or for snacks and drinks.
You can even check this stroller at the airport gate, but you can’t bring it on the plane (it’s a little too big). The comfortably fitted handle works well with the bicycle wheels, giving you an experience that is unmatchable.
- I really enjoyed the pricing point with this product, they didn’t go overboard with it!
- It offers a lot of sun shade for your child, due to the incredibly large canopy
- The handlebar is designed well and fits your hands perfectly while jogging
- The recline strap is easy to use and adjust
- The basket used for storage is quite large and offers up a plethora of potential things to be stored in there
The cons are limited – I would say there are only two in total, those being:
- The fact that it can be too bulky at times, although it folds over and compacts pretty well
- You cannot recline the seat all the way down
This is a solid choice for those parents out there that want to remain active after the birth of a child. You have all of the features, including the proper tires and amount of comfort needed to really get a grip on things. If you have never tried out a jogger stroller, and are seriously considering purchasing one, you should be taking a look at the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller before anything else. Plus it accepts Baby Trend Infant Car Seats (sold separately) It attaches to child’s tray to create a travel system. Comes in a variety of options.
Price range: $73.40 – $113.99
Something Else to Take Note Of
Really quickly, I just wanted to tell you about the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Travel System, it’s very similar to the one we just looked at, but it comes with both a car seat and the flex-lock car seat base.
This travel system allows you to go for a jog with a baby from birth up to 50 lbs. So you don’t have to wait until your baby is old and strong enough to be able to go with you for a jog.
It works very well on all terrains and essentially shares the same great features as the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller.
Very affordable compared to similar products without compromising the quality.
Ultralight And Effortless To Push
The Joovy jogging stroller has great advantages, it drives really smooth and is very lightweight. Effortless to push and turn when walking or jogging. The maneuverability is great, it’s very sturdy and able to withstand many rough jumps you might encounter during a walk or run. The shocks and tires make riding over rough terrain pretty smooth for your most important passenger, your child.
The front wheel can be easily converted from a straight wheel to a swivel which makes it much more maneuverable to take it for a slow walk around the town or shopping. Or you can lock it straight for maximum stability on trails or faster runs.
There is no hand brake but there is a brake bar which you can easily set with your foot. It comes with a tire pump and running leash. The tire pump can be stored in the basket and out of the way.
The handlebars are not adjustable but will work fine for most parents, short, average and tall.
The seat is spacious and has an excellent foot rest. One of the best strollers for a heavier child. One of the few on the market with a weight limit of 75 lbs. Which also means that your child will not outgrow it soon and you’ll enjoy it longer. You can go jog for 2 hours or walk for a long walk and your child will be perfectly happy with it. The seat almost fully reclines which is great if you have a child who wants to take a nap.
The canopy is huge and has excellent coverage. It gives you multiple options to protect your child from the sun. Your child will sleep peacefully during runs even when the sun is beating down on you. Plus there is a little see-through spot at the top of the canopy so you can check in on your LO. The canopy doesn’t have mesh sides which is good if you run in the rain and won’t need any extra cover. But still, there is good air flow for the child.
The parent organizer on the handlebar is very convenient. It has two cup holders and a zipper pocket to hold your phone, keys, sunglasses, and wallet. It doesn’t have and there isn’t an option to add on a kid tray. So that’s you need to be aware of.
The basket underneath under the seat is roomy and can hold a lot of stuff. There are also two great mesh pockets alongside the seat for snacks or drinks the child can easily access when they need them.
It’s fairly easy to open and fold. It does require 2 hands which isn’t a big deal. On the positive, when folded it’s surprisingly compact and doesn’t take up a lot of space. You’ll be able to fit it in the back mid-size SUV.
If your child is under 5-6 months old it is compatible with most infant car seats. However, you have to purchase it separately. It does work with most known brands. It costs around $39.99. Click here if you’re interested.
It’s hands-down one of the best strollers on the market. It’s not is not the cheapest stroller out there but a great alternative to more expensive strollers. And is beautiful, classy and stylish.
Top All Terrain Jogging Stroller
An excellent all-terrain stroller, compared to other it rides like a dream. Some call it the Land Rover of strollers. The big wheels make it much easier to push and maneuver it through the grass, gravel road or unpaved hiking trails. Perfect stroller for someone who lives in a country.
With the front wheel swivel lock, you can easily transition from daily strolling to jogging. For extra security, it has a leash to use while running so in case you fall the stroller won’t go away. There is a pouch for the jogging leash to be stored in.
The stroller is bigger and much taller than other strollers which makes it easier and more comfortable to push or jog for an average height or taller person. If you’re around 5′ you may find it a bit tall but not to point of being uncomfortable.
The tires provide a very comfy ride for the child. The seat is very comfortable, it feels kind of luxurious. It has three stages of recline allowing the child to sit up and see what’s going on and provides an easy transition to laying down when they fall asleep. It’s a life saver when you got for a long walk, jog, or hike and the child is tired and wants to nap. What I really liked is the seat adjustment on the back. It’s not the pull straps (drawstring) that a lot of the strollers have, it has a metal bar (like a car seat mechanism) that you pull up to adjust the seat. It doesn’t go fully flat, it about a 45-degree angle. If you have an infant under5-6 months, you need to use a car seat. It has the Click Connect feature and is compatible with all Graco Click Connect infant to toddler car seats. The seat belt will keep your child safe and is easy to use. Another great safety feature is reflective plates on both back wheels and on both sides of the snack tray. Since the stroller is bigger than other, it’s great for taller babies. There is plenty of room over the head and their feet will rest comfortably on the footrest. Yes, it comes with a footrest too.
Comes with child and parent’s tray. The child’s tray is perfect for eating outside after a walk or run. It has two cup holders and a place to put snacks. They can rest books across and look at them while you’re busy running. The child’s tray comes off for easy access for the child to get in or out. That’s another big plus!
The parent tray is great and has two deep cup holders. It does have a phone holder but it’s a little outdated. If you have iPhone 8, iPhone 8+ or phone with a screen 6″ plus, most probably the phone will be too big and you won’t be able to use it. But you shouldn’t be using a smartphone when pushing a stroller. There is also a small compartment to store things like keys.
The adjustable canopy is large and has a nice stylish look to it. It’s larger than I’ve seen in other strollers and blocks out the sun really well. It’ll cover the baby very well except their legs and feet. The mesh sides are great too, provide good air flow and allow the baby to see things around. On top, there is a little mesh window too so you can see your little one inside.
The storage basket is very large and deep enough to hold a diaper bag, a backpack full of baby stuff or toys. The higher tires make access to the basket underneath much easier.
One of the easiest strollers to fold and unfold. You can do with one hand and it takes a couple of seconds. It has a kickstand that keeps the stroller from falling over when it is folded up. so you don’t have to hold it or lean it against a wall or a car. It’s really an amazing feature, simple but makes life easier. If needed the wheels are easy to detach and reattach for storage or transport.
I absolutely LOVE this stroller for its sturdiness, practicality, outdoor capabilities. The only downsides are that it’s on a big side when folded up. Other than that, the quality is fabulous. Assembly is a breeze and takes about 10 minutes. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It’s a really quality product at a more affordable price than the “higher end” baby gear.
Price Range: $119.99 – $189.99
Top Pick For Running And Exploring Outdoors
The BOB Revolution SE Stroller is superior in many different rights, but the most obvious one would have to be the fact that it’s very well crafted. It’s made to support even the most conscious mothers around, as the swiveling front wheels mean that your jogging endeavors are safe and controlled. The front wheel also has a lock equipped for straight and narrow jogging paths – or even when the terrain you’re running on starts to get a little rough. There is a very lightweight frame thrown into the equation, which is pretty standard in regards to jogging strollers. You don’t want to be pushing a heavy object in front of you while running! There’s an adapter that will allow you to attach a car seat or snack tray as you please, so there’s a decent amount of accessories to be working with.
It’s a great investment for those with a brand new baby being introduced into the family, but you always want to work with one that isn’t going to completely obliterate your back. The handlebars in this particular model are placed at a decent position and should be good for essentially everybody (even if you happen to be rather tall). If you’re tall, odds are you won’t need to worry about hunching over with this model (unless you stand at about 7 feet tall!). The handlebars can’t be adjusted, but it’s good that they’re located at a reasonable place.
It rides pretty smoothly on rough terrain, and it’s even beach friendly! It’s amazing for running, obviously, and I know that from personal experience. I was using it while I got into running after having my second baby, to get rid of the baby weight. It’s awesome for everyday use, and I really wouldn’t use any other stroller for running purposes. If you wanted to use this stroller with a car seat (as in, you’re driving somewhere specific for your runs, or just using the stroller for daily purposes), you’d have to buy one of the SnugRide Click Connect models.
Looking at the Features
The features are the most important part, right? Well, I’m going to look at the features as intricately as possible; because I want to help you understand how high-quality this stroller actually is. Some of the features included are relatively straightforward, like the ultra-padded seating and the five-point padded harness. It keeps your child comfortable and secure and allows you to have some peace of mind. It’s an ideal stroller for children that are at least 8 weeks old, and the weight capacity would be around 70 pounds. I wouldn’t recommend this stroller for newborns, because they may be at risk in regards to how secure they can be in the stroller.
- It does not come with the infant car seat adapter, you’ll have to purchase that separately. Some obvious features would be:
- The multi-position reclining seat – it can’t go completely flat, but it’s pretty darn close! Very comfortable
- A very large storage basket to store all of your goodies, and parental items
- There aren’t really any accessories that come along with this stroller, but you can purchase a single children’s tray by yourself if you’d like
- It’s compact, equipped with a lightweight frame and incredibly easy to fold over for storage/transportation; it even still folds when there is a Britax adapter in place
- There’s a rear parking brake, as well as adjustable shoulder straps!
Pro’s & Con’s
Since I’m just getting into the jogging scene, I don’t know a lot about what’s needed in regards to your running equipment. I do know, however, that a high-quality stroller is going to work wonders for you. That’s why I enjoy going over the pro’s & con’s, as they are the most telling things to be looking at when buying a product.
- This stroller will go over just about any terrain possible
- It’s a very high-quality product
- There’s tons of room in the storage area for pillows and blankets in the storage room area
- It’s very easy to move and maneuver with this stroller
- The sun canopy is great and offers a lot of coverage in regards to the sun
- The tires are relatively easy to fill up with air
- It’s a stroller that you can use over an extended period of time!
- It’s relatively bulky when you compare it to some of the other strollers you’ll come across
- It doesn’t fold into a very small shape
- That’s about it!
This is one of the best strollers I’ve ever owned, hands down. I’ve had a few different strollers in my time, some that I’ve learned to love, and others that I have absolutely hated. This one covers pretty much any type of terrain that you could imagine, and that’s going to be a big deal. You don’t want to be caught up on gravel and dirt, you want the stroller to move with ease and haste. If you’re an active parent, this stroller is going to work wonders for you. You’ll have all of the necessary features, but they went above and beyond in regards to the comfort you’ll be experiencing. It’s comfortable for the child, as well as comfortable for the parent. Last but not least, it’s expensive but if you can afford it, sure, go for it. If not pick one of those I have reviewed above and you’ll be fine.
